The Merlin Woods City Park integrated sports plan coaching campus for the living and working population of the area includes the public swimming pool that was featured in the 2017 - 2023 Galway city council development plan for Doughiska.

The 20 year coaching, facilities and requirements plan in consultation with the local sports clubs active with teams on the existing community facilties will include a hockey pitch for Roscam, a BMX pump track alongside the existing soccer pitch and Tennis/ basketball courts.

At Merlin Woods City park the requirements are useable after 4pm to 9.30pm in the winter, Athletics track, a Gymnastics gymnasium, an upgraded multisport soccer, gaelic and rugby pitches.

At Merlin Woods "daytime only" orienteering facility and safe public lighting to and from estates to the local Merlin Woods schools.

Thanks to the CEO of Gymnastics Ireland, Renmore Gymnastics and Castlegar for attending the Galway City Council workshop on the large scale sports infrastructure projects. We were delighted that council listened and will take into account the well established and existing priorities in the Galway city development plan 2017 - 2023 that relate to the Doughiska Roscam and Ardaun areas.
